Re-Inventing the Hackathon: The World’s Largest Developer Ecosystem

This spring, AngelHack will introduce the concept of “Whole developer” in their new hackathon series, which will take place in 30 cities around the world. AngelHack, the world’s largest organizer of HackThon, expects to attract over 5,000 developers this spring who will work on over 1,500 projects with cash prizes and mentorship opportunities.

On May 10th and 11th, the “Whole developer” lands in Bolzano to focus on developing soft skills for developers, designers and entrepreneurs, guiding them towards a better business sense and a better lifestyle. To this end, the event will be attended by experts in emotional intelligence and well-being, as well as yoga and mindfulness instructors.

“The Whole developer is a hacker who governs his own technique and emotion, focuses on creating a well-rounded lifestyle, and strives for growth,” said Sabeen Ali, CEO of AngelHack. “As innovators, we have the ability and responsibility to teach the industry, to our employers and predecessors, healthy work habits and more balanced lifestyles.”

In addition to earning thousands of dollars in prize money, the winning teams will have the opportunity to participate in HACKcelerator AngelHack’s summer program, a 12-week mentorship program designed to help top teams explore and hone their ideas, ultimately decide if they want to become a startup. The teams will present their ideas to investors to obtain seed funding at the end of the program.

Hackathons, marathons of coding sessions in which teams of developers work for 24 hours straight to ideate, design, and develop solutions, are AngelHack’s primary vehicle for spreading technology and creating opportunities for developers around the world.
